Clap
Save

In shadowed alleys where dreams decay,

Where light fades fast, and night holds sway,

Roam restless souls with eyes so sad,

In this harsh world, their lives are clad.

With ribs like cages, thin and frail,

Each step a struggle, each breath a tale,

Of hunger's gnaw, of endless pain,

Of days spent wandering in the rain.

They once knew warmth, they once knew care,

In homes where laughter filled the air.

But fate was cruel, and doors were closed,

Now they wander, uncomposed.

Their barks are whispers, faint and meek,

Their cries for help, so tired and weak.

In empty lots, they seek for scraps,

In garbage bins, their life perhaps.

The world moves on, with hearts of stone,

Oblivious to their mournful moan.

Yet in their eyes, a spark remains,

A glimmer of hope despite the chains.

For every tail that wags in plea,

Is a soul that longs to be set free.

To find a home, a loving hand,

To roam in fields, to understand.

But often times, they're cast aside,

In this cruel game of life, they hide.

With only stars to guide their way,

In the cold, they lay where shadows play.

So spare a thought, extend your hand,

To these lost souls across the land.

For in their hearts, a story lies,

Of love once lost, beneath the skies.

Together we can change their fate,

Turn despair to hope before it's late.

For every dog deserves to know,

A life of love, a chance to grow.
