Why Oil city of Jamnagar ?

Jamnagar is an oil city. We call it the home of oil. There is a very big oil refinery of the world here and the one that manages it is Reliance Industries. The name of this industry is Moti Khavdi. It is located in a village called Jamnagar, Gujarat. A commission was formed for this on 14th July 1999. Its refining capacity is 1.24 billion barrels of 197000 barrels of oil per day. Its oil refinery is done in 36 months. Its crude oil goes to Barmer in Rajasthan. There is a pipeline laid from Barmer to Jamnagar. There are many facilities in it like facilities of sites, what facilities and townships. There are 2500 employees and 7500 acres of land is developed in it.

1. Lakhota Lake

Lakhota Lake is a man-made lake. It is situated in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This lake is very famous and it has another name Ranmal Lake. Next to it is Lakhota Fort which is very famous. This lake is spread over 5 kms. It is a small island till Jamnagar railway station. This lake was built in the 18th century. Both Lakhota Lake Fort and Lakhota Lake were built by Maharaj Jam Ranmal. 75 birds live in it.

2. Pratap Villas Palace

Pratap Vilas Palace is situated in Jamnagar. Jam Saheb was the king of Jamnagar at that time. This palace was built by Maharaja Pratap Singh. This building is made using Indo-Saracenic and European architecture and is built in the same style. Its feature palace matches with Victoria Memorial and there are garden lawns around it and ornate pillars, animals, birds and flowers are built on top of the palace. There are royal artifacts, style, vintage cars and everything inside it. One part is completely covered with a museum and it is also a tourist attraction. This Lakhota Palace was built by Navanagar and this Lakhota Palace is very important for Jamnagar and is an attraction for tourists. And this museum was built in the 18th to 19th century. The ruler of Gujarat was Jadeja Rajput. It has big paintings and many other things inside it.

4. Khijadia Bird Sanctuary

Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary is situated in Jamnagar, Gujarat and more than 300 foreign birds come inside it and in 2022, 2 February was declared as World Wetland Day. The bird sanctuary is situated on the Gulf of Kutch where different birds come here.
