I had been thinking about writing something meaningful, but what is better than writing about a day out with friends from work? Yep, nothing. A day out with your work friends, there is a lot of gossip, a lot of fun, a lot of laughing and a lot of food and booze.

When you meet your friends from work after ages, it feels like no time has passed, yet a long time has passed; that’s how I felt when I met my friends (Himanshu sir, Simranjeet, and Mehak) after a long time a day out in MKT (Majnu Ka Tila).

Majnu-ka-Tilla, often referred to as MKT, is a small Tibetan neighborhood in Delhi, India, founded in the 1950s. Also known as New Aruna Nagar Colony, Chungtown, and Samyeling, this area is mainly Tibetan. It's famous for its simple bamboo houses, tarpaulin roofs, and a traditional Tibetan barley wine called "Chang." Locals even playfully call it "Changistan" due to its reputation for affordable Chang. MkT is a favorite spot for college students and tourists, offering Tibetan restaurants, a monastery, and small clothing stores. The nearest metro station is Vidhan Sabha Metro Station on the Yellow Line, but Kashmiri Gate or Vishwavidyalaya Metro Stations on the same line are also convenient for reaching Majnu-ka-Tilla.

We had a good time there, with food, booze, karaoke, walking, and gossip, of course. I am so glad that I met these people because the day we spent could not have been good had it not been with these weirdos.

Himanshu sir and I were the first to reach there because we came together, so we explored the closed MKT a little bit (closed because it was the Chinese New Year).

We sat at Kalsang Café, one of the most popular cafes in Mussoorie, which was not quite up to the mark here in MKT and waited for the rest of the party to join. The food was not that good, the booze wasn’t good at all, and they didn’t have any water, literally. I would say bad services, but of all the food we had there and we had a lot, we had chilli chicken, kung pao chicken, devil momos, steamed momos, etc; the only dishes I really liked was Chilli Chicken, and maybe a little Kung Pao chicken.

We were enjoying our gossip, conversations, food and booze when we were joined by my best friend (he was there to be set up by me). From bitching about the food to bitching about the office, we talked and laughed and enjoyed a lot.

From there, we left to search for a good karaoke setting; it was a long walk until we finally found Groovy Kitchen, where we played a lot of songs; we danced, we drank, we ate, we laughed, we sang, and we enjoyed.

From Taylor Swift to AP Dhillon and some weird Haryanavi (not good) songs, we played everything when we were there. Then we packed up after an hour and stayed in the restaurant to finish our food.

Oh, my favorite moment when we were there was when we fought with the cashier because they put in extra charges. To be fair, Mehak fought, but I was there, and it was fun, really fun.

But anyway, from there, Himanshu sir took us to a small bakery café called Wongdhen. There, we ate cheesecake and tiramisu and got a small gift from Himanshu sir (a blueberry doughnut).

The bakery was amazing, but the café setting was to die for. There was live singing and beautiful seating arrangements. a big screen and the aura was just pure magic.

The day was really well spent; I really enjoyed it a lot. But if you want to see visuals of all the fun we had, watch this YouTube video and enjoy with us.

There is, of course, some information that I am leaving out, but overall, it was a day well spent, and with these people, I would love to go back out there and enjoy. Probably another day out to MKT or someplace else, but I would love to have another day out with these guys.
