Whether it's the slow build of tension or the unsettling exploration of the human psyche, these stories captivate and thrill. In this blog, we’ll dive into the world of psychological thrillers, exploring what makes them so captivating, and recommending some must-reads (and must-sees which include movies too!) that are sure to leave you questioning everything.
5 Of the Most Top Ranked Psychological thrillers today include:
- 'The Housemaid' By Freida McFadden- I honestly never expected the plot to progress this way. It had me on the edge and I just couldn't put it down! The amount of absolute suspense I was in while reading was commendable. Who would've expected the one person who wasn't the primary suspect to be the mastermind all along! I would give this book a solid 8.5/10. I loved reading it!

- 'Home Before Dark' By Riley Sager- My jaw was on the floor when I read the ending. The plot was solid and evenly progressive too. A woman and her parents move into a new house, in the middle of the woods. And only roughly three weeks later, they're sent fleeing out! What other mysteries could their house, Baneberry Hall, hold? This suspense-thriller deserves a good 7/10. A real game-changer!

- 'The Silent Patient' By Alex Michaelides- I have never read another book so twisted. I finished it in less than a day because I just couldn't bare to put it down! A seemingly normal woman with a perfect life, a perfect husband, shoots him in the head five times and then goes mute? Who other than her psychotherapist to unravel this unruly but very interesting case. My jaw was on the floor at the twist in the plot towards the end. I would honestly give this book a 9/10. It was an amazing read!

- 'The Stillhouse Lake' By Rachel Caine- What a rollercoaster of emotions this was. On god, I tell you this was an amazing book to read. Rachel Caine really did an awesome job. A timid, housewife with a good life, blessed with two adorable children finds out her darling husband led a double life as a notorious serial killer? She must be the protector-fighter of her children. That seems like a pretty sane plot, don't you think? I'd give this book a solid 7.5/10. It was wonderful and kept me reading!

- 'Sometimes I lie' By Alice Feeney- This book had a solemn, pitiful and lustrous feel to it. It made me feel like I had reached into the book to feel what Amber Reynolds was feeling. That feeling of being in a coma and being able to hear what was around, but unable to move of blink my eyes open. She knows, feels, her husband doesn't love her anymore and admits that indeed, she lies. Sometimes, that it. This book needs a good rating and I'll do the honors, 8/10. A great book in general!

Hope most of these books had you yearning to read more!
