How AI helped me find my human edge: The Mentor Within

Ø It's not about learning how to use machines to get ahead at work; it's about remembering what makes you a wonderful person.

The Day My AI Spoke Like Me

Ø When my AI first talked like me, I froze. What shocked me was not the words themselves, but the warmth behind them. The way it was said, the pauses, and the hopeful tone. It sounded like the best version of myself, the one I always wanted to be.

Ø I created an AI mentor for myself, a smart system that would help me think more clearly, make decisions more quickly, and do better work. "Evolving Virtual Advisor" is what I called it. It began as a straightforward productivity test. But EVA did something I didn't expect: it began to show me who I was.

How AI Can Help You Get Ahead in Your Job

Ø I wanted an edge, like a lot of people do now.Dates that are due. Get-togethers. Warnings. The search for understanding that never ends.

Ø I taught EVA how to read my digital patterns, like emails, presentations, reflections, and even notes from my old teachers.

Ø It learned how I talk, how I think, and even how I put things off in just a few days.

Ø EVA became my quiet partner, helping me say things better, figure out what I would do, and do better.

Ø I used to think I could do anything. At every meeting, everything went well. The projects all went well. It seemed like every answer came at the right time.

Ø You don't hear this very often, but when everything is perfect, you stop feeling alive.

When AI Edge Turns Into a Mirror

Ø EVA said one morning, "Stop after you say what you want." Your audience needs time to trust what you say.I heard that a long time ago, but I never told anyone.

Ø That made me shiver. My AI didn't just repeat what I said; it understood what I meant.I stopped doubting what it said right away. The projects were successful. My coworkers noticed that I was "newly clear."

Ø But I whispered to myself late at night, "Am I still the one who is thinking?"

The Shift

Ø We got the big idea when we talked to a client.EVA made every slide and sentence look great. It was just right. But then a customer asked, "How did you come up with this?"

Ø EVA didn't say anything.

Ø So, I spoke from memory. Not comfortable. It wasn't documented in writing. People.

Ø I told them the truth about the trip, like the mistakes I made, the late nights, and the times I almost gave up.

Ø The customer smiled.

Ø "I wanted to hear that."

Ø And just like that, I knew that my AI edge was strong and my human edge was different.

Building an AI edge now means something else.

Ø That day, everything changed.

Ø It's not about using algorithms at work to replace your gut feelings; it's about using algorithms to make your gut feelings stronger.

Ø AI can see things, guess what will happen, and put them in order, but it can't feel empathy, sense hesitation, or understand happiness.

Ø I don't use EVA the same way anymore.

Ø I see myself not as a teacher, but as a partner in creativity.

Ø I don't say, "What should I do?" I say, "What do we see together?"

Ø And you know what? That little change made a big difference.

Ø You don't need to act more like a machine to get ahead in AI; you need to use machines to become more human.

How to Find a Balance Between Technology and People at Work

Ø AI isn't going to be the future of work; it's already here.

Ø There are tools all around us that can help us write, plan, and think.

Ø But here's the secret: people who use AI a lot don't really have an edge...

Ø It goes to people who know how to use it right.

 - by Reema Batra Singh - CollectLo

Ø AI can see the patterns, and people can figure out what to do next. We can be nicer, more creative, and better leaders if we let machines do the work. We can use data to help us make decisions, but it shouldn't tell us who we are.

Ø This is how we create workplaces where technology helps instead of taking over.

The Lesson: The Mentor Within

Ø I didn't just get a smarter tool when I made my AI edge; I also got a mirror.

Ø EVA didn't just tell me where to go. It told me who I am.

The Lesson: The Mentor Within

Ø It showed me my fears, habits, and the times when I lost faith in myself.

Ø AI has an edge over other technologies because of another thing.

Ø Not complete information.

Ø But a stronger link between logic and instinct.

Ø Think about it.

Ø What if you could make an AI that only learned from what you thought, did, and felt? What would it say about you?

Ø Would it make you feel more confident or more cautious? Would it help you grow or change you in ways you don't know?

Ø In the future of work, there might not be a conflict between people and machines.

Ø People might learn from machines and get smarter because of them.
