It’s the story from Dwaparyuga- The third yugas from the 4 yugas or ages in Hindu Cosmology, an era of Lord Krishna in which Lord Krishna played a significant role by performing Divine Leelas (Divine play or mischievous actions performed by deities often carry deeper spiritual meanings and teachings) and his journey to Protect Righteousness (Dharma) and Destroy the Evil (Adharma).

And the journey begins from here, once upon a time, there was a tyrant, cruel and unjust king named Kansa who ruled over the kingdom Mathura, who was feared by all. One day, he did marriage of his sister Devaki with Vasudev and was happily taking them to his kingdom. Suddenly on the way a Divine Prophecy Foretold, that Kansa would be killed by the Devaki’s and Vasudev’s eighth child. Terrified, by this Prophecy, Kansa imprisoned Devaki and Vasudev and killed their first six children immediately after birth. When Devaki became pregnant with seventh child, by divine intervention, the child was miraculously transferred to the womb of Rohini in Gokul (here we can assume that idea of surrogacy was begin from that era, the miraculous birth which is mentioned in story might be a surrogacy condition). This seventh child was the elder brother of Krishna named Balarama. And finally, one midnight during month of Bhadrapada between August to early September, on Ashtami there was our Lord Krishna born, an event mark as the celebration of “Krishna Janmashtami”. Our Lord Krishna’s mission on earth to establish the righteousness and destroy the unrighteousness.

On the night of Krishna’s birth, the prison where the Devaki and Vasudev was kept, was filled with the Divine light. The chains binding Vasudev fell off and prison doors miraculously swung open and all the guards and other people in prison were put into deep sleep by divine power. This allowed Vasudev to leave the prison unnoticed and carry Krishna across the Yamuna River to Gokul, where he was exchanged with newborn daughter of Nanda and Yashoda, later he came back to the prison with that daughter. Neither Nanda nor Yashoda was aware of this divine secrecy, the entire exchange was carried orchestrated by divine will, to protect Krishna from King Kansa.

Both Nanda and Yashoda woke up the next morning, they found a beautiful baby boy next to them, they were overjoyed and believed this child to be their own, unaware of the divine exchange and lovingly accepted Krishna as their own child. After that, they both raised Krishna with immense love and care in the village of Gokul. However, Krishna’s early childhood was filled with lot of threats and danger by his maternal uncle Kansa, his uncle Kansa came to know that the Devaki’s and Vasudev’s eighth child is alive. Despite of many threats, Nanda and Yashoda continued to care for Krishna and allowed to grow up safely in Gokul, perform many divine Leelas, which was adored and endeared by everyone in village. The Krishna started growing up and was a naughty, mischievous child of Gokul and he loved eating Makhan (Butter) from his Mother Yashoda (So, we can say that Biotechnology exist in that era, as our mother Yashoda used to prepare butter from the milk cream) and not just that, Krishna also eaten butter by stealing Makhan from other houses in the Gokul, he was also called as Makhanchor (butter thief) by the people of  the village.

He performed many Divine Leela’s which was cherished and adored by Gopis and all the people of Gokul village and in which one of the most astonishing Leela was only experienced by his Mother Yashoda. One day Krishna was playing with his friends and elder brother Balaram in fruit farm, and as he was divine, he considers the soil of Mother Earth as the sacred and ate it as Prasad of the Mother Earth. This event marks that everything in this world is sacred and gift of God which should be accepted with gratitude and for that be kind and value it. So, Krishna ate some soils as the Prasad, this was noticed by his friends and they immediately complaint to Balaram, for which Balaram scolded Krishna for eating mud and soil and took him to Mother Yashoda. Mother Yashoda after knowing about Krishna eating mud was worried and concerned for his well-being, she started scolding Krishna and asked him, “open your mouth Kanha” with the mixture of very angry and worried tone she said, “Kanha, Open your Mouth! Are your friends and brother are saying is real? let me see… show me…Open your mouth!”. After that Krishna lied and said, “No, Maa, I have not eaten the mud, believe me, all are lying...!” All Krishna’s Friends and brother Balaram again said in chorus,“No, Kanha is Lying we are saying the truth!” Yashoda Maa forcibly asked Kanha to open his mouth to see whether Kanha ate the mud or not?

Finally, Krishna (Kanha) opened his mouth in front of his Mother Yashoda. Maa Yashoda saw inside the mouth of Kanha to see whether he has eaten the soil or not? As Krishna opened his mouth, Maa Yashoda saw in his mouth and soon was astound to see unbelievable visuals inside mouth of Kanha. She observed the whole Universe, the celestial bodies, planets, moon, sun, stars, deep ocean, mountains, forests and also she even saw herself watching inside Kanha’s mouth, inside the Kanha's mouth. Everything she witnessed by watching inside her Kanha’s mouth. And soon after that she felt unconscious. Krishna through his “Yog-maya” ( divine power maintains the illusion of the material world) vanished and erased everything from her memory which she viewed in his mouth. After that when she came back to her Consciousness, she forgot everything which she viewed inside the mouth of her Kanha. But still she felt something unusual incident happened just now. So, she was highly astonished and terrified and saw inside her child’s mouth again and this time she saw was the mud only. Krishna erased the event from his mother’s memory, because, he wanted that Maa Yashoda should not see him as the lord but as her own child only and should love and care him as a mother as she always used to do.

So, the presence of Universe and everything viewed by Maa Yashoda inside the mouth of Krishna indicates that all the living and non-living matters of this universe is created by the Krishna and will return back to him and again this eternal cycle would repeat. Everything in this Universe reside inside Krishna, we and every matter all reside in the Krishna and in everything the Krishna reside. We all are the Child of God; the Creator and we all are interconnected which indicates the oneness of every matter in this Universe. In every matter in every particle, living beings and non-living things, there is Divine energy. We say in hindi “Kan Kan me Hari”.

Moral and Teachings: Have compassion for everything in this universe, value, be kind and enlightened yourself with sense of Oneness with the nature.
