Everybody is  gonna write about the history and story behind the festival Dussehra and the rituals involved in it.  But being honest , we all know the story. So let's make this Dussehra a different one by reading my story that changed my  perspective completely -

I was always in a rush , rush to catch an auto, rush to finish the assignments, rush to finish my meals. Fast things kind of fascinated me. One time I was traveling in an auto eager to visit the Dussehra mela  , I was getting too bored as the driver was too slow. It felt like an hour passed sitting in the auto but I didn't reach my destination. I finally got off  and talked to the driver " Uncle , what's taking you so long??? Kindly drive faster." "Madam there is a heavy jam, there is an accident - two youngsters were over speeding , they didn't see the bumps and they ultimately got into such fatal accidents. These young boys I tell you,  should learn to slow down their driving."

I realized at this point that I was doing the same - always in a hurry to do things whether it was a simple task or achieve my goals. I never slowed or took a break. I understood that the pleasure of achieving your goals remains consistent when you take small steps everyday rather than rushing towards it. Slowing down your pace is necessary to avoid mistakes. It's good to be ambitious but it's also important to be calm and enjoy the process. You are neither too slow nor too fast , you are just at the right place. Everything that is set for you will eventually come to you. It's a must to be hardworking but it's also a must to be patient. Learn to take a rest and restart again. Being slow doesn't mean you are behind. It just means you are resting and preparing for a longer run. The universe isn't in a rush, so why are you?

This festive season I learnt that how important it is to be patient along with being ambitious. You are a human too so give yourself a break and start over all again. Always remember persistence is valuable than perfection.  Dussehra is not only a symbol of victory of good over evil but it also  signifies your victory over your self doubt and every day is Dussehra when you ignite the negativity and fear inside  you and your  perspective changes for the better.
