Illuminate Your Life: The Spiritual Meaning of Diwali

Diwali always has been a very special festival in the hearts of all of the Indians. It's a festival of joy, light and new hopes for every year. But apart from it being only a festival it also has many significant meanings, let us take a look about the various cultural references that we celebrate during Diwali. Deepawali generally falls in the month of October to November symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The goddess Kali is also worshiped during this festival as Kali literally means Kaal or the future. The goddess symbolizes victory over evil and new beginnings. Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha is also worshiped during this auspicious festival because they represent prosperity and happiness in an Indian household.
Previous year Diwali was very special to me and I want to share something that completely changed my perception. Diwali changed my views over something that I always had a fear of. So let's take a glimpse of the story where I realized the true meaning of festival
Recently, we have heard many cases of accidents all over the country. Maybe hundreds or even more . Life has become so unpredictable . It was Deepawali and I heard about a brutal accident. I was shocked and terrified. No one knows what will happen to us in the next moment . But even after all those deadly accidents , have you heard that people have stopped coming out of their houses or retired from their jobs. Have people stopped traveling or living their lives ?? No right , because life goes on. In a big big world, you are a small person with some dreams and ambitions . Of course nobody will care if you give up , people will forget about it after a few days . But what about your wishes ? Some bad incidents and you stop dreaming ? . Remember some phases of life are definitely bad but the whole life can’t be so. We all hear such bad incidents and accidents around us but we still move on because fear and doubt are never the solutions. So it doesn’t matter how many accidents you have faced, please step out and move. A bad incident can scar you , break you but it can also teach you. Your dreams don’t deserve to be given up on. Thousands of people shatter inside everyday but they know their needs and restart again. Life goes on no matter what. In the fear of accidents or mistakes happening again , would you stop living your dream or keep walking towards your destination to live that life you’ve always deserved. The choice is yours.
I was always scared of accidents and failures. If I failed to do something , I never gave myself a second chance. .That day I realized that fear is never the solution for anything. I always felt like a failure and any bad thing happened in my course of action I would always blame myself and never step out again . But previous year's Diwali was literally very different because I realized that you should always give yourself chances to Restart and rebuild your inner self. That day I promised myself that no matter how much failure I face in my journey, I will never give up and keep moving. So this Deepawali ignite the positivity and beauty inside you and try your best to achieve your dreams and emit all the fear and self doubt.
