One of the multiple ways to learn something includes learning through a movie, show, web series, or TV series. As legendary as F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is, this late-nineties TV series is also a good teacher. Not a lot of people can comprehend the profound meaning of this series. Containing not only humorous, but F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is a refined example of a mixture of all emotions of a human being.
From making you pee in your pants out of laughter to making you cry your heart out, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. takes you on a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, and along the journey, teaches you the most valuable lessons about life. If you have watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S. only one time, you may not be able to pick what is worth learning and what just flies away in laughter. On the other hand, people who have watched the series more than once are more likely to grasp the hidden lessons behind the way the show is depicted.
If you are a true fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., you must read further to know what this series teaches us if you haven’t noticed the valuable lessons yet.
Each character in the series except for Joey is always ready to find and fall in love with someone again and again. They don’t fear the pain of heartbreak. They live in the moment, accept reality, and love a person as much as they can, and when the time of a parting ways comes, they let that person go. Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Monica, Chandler, and sometimes even Joey find love and live that love to the fullest without worrying much about the future and heartbreak. They would instantly allow someone else to enter their life and make them feel wanted and loved.
This teaches us that we all should not be afraid of falling in love or dating someone, even if our hearts get broken. Life is a long journey towards the end and we are going to meet a lot of people until we die, so we must make our minds strong enough to cope with meeting someone and leaving them when the time comes. We are humans and we cannot live alone and we are bound to experience every emotion of a human life, hence we must meet people with open arms and allow them to make us feel every emotion they have for us in their hearts. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. teaches us that we must not let the fear of losing people from loving them.
Lesson Number- 2
This lesson is even more important than “Love”. Monica had to move on from her breakup with Richard, Ross had to move on from his breakup with Rachel and Emily, Chandler had to move on from his breakup with Kathy, Rachel had to move on from her breakup with Ross and Phoebe had to move on from her breakup with David (the scientist guy). Now these are the major heartbreaks and they all took a good amount of time to get over their lovers. But they all would get over their breakups with other people in no time.
I’ll tell you why!
It is quite obvious that leaving the person you love will hurt but we cannot let hurt stop us from finding someone else and falling in love again. The mere fear of getting hurt robs us from living our lives, meeting new people, and enjoying the time we have had on this earth. Moreover, each person you meet is just a visitor in your life, and they will leave you when their drop location arrives. Another way of moving on easily is to understand that when you love yourself and have a life of your own, you do not rely on your partner for every need of yours. Hence, when they leave, you move on quickly because you did not stop having a life of your own, you did not stop loving and taking care of yourself no matter how nice and lovable your partner was.
Lesson Number- 3
No matter how obsessed with cleanliness Monica gets and irritates her friends with the obsession, no matter how huge the mistake that Chandler makes, no matter how annoying Ross gets, no matter how senseless Phoebe gets, no matter how disappointing Joey gets, and no matter how careless Rachel gets, they all would forgive one another easily and quickly (except in some cases). Not only each other, but they would forgive other people easily too. They are able to do that because they know the mistake has been made, it’s all in the past and they can’t control the damage that has been done.
This teaches us that we must understand that what has happened was meant to happen and holding on to anger only means tormenting your own self. The practice of forgiving quickly leads to a healthy mindset. Another way to learn how to forgive quickly is to understand that we all are different and act differently according to how we have been brought up and how we think, and we cannot control what and how others do what they do. What we can only do is forgive what people do and set them free.
Let’s meet after some time to unbox the second box (part) of valuable lessons taught by the popular series, F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
