My parents have been married for 30 years.
Thirty.
They've celebrated anniversaries the way most Indian middleclass parents do ,my dad maybe remembers the date, I definitely remind him (usually he remembers) , they go out for the temple , and that's that. No fuss. No big cake. No drama. Just two people who love each other too practically to make a scene about it.
And guys i have decided , that is not good enough .
I was home for a visit from my horrible hostel life FREEDOM YAAAhoooo!!! , my brother had flown in from Karimnagar, and we invited our grand parents , Now it was evening , Everything was perfect that day, except when it came to the cake, I panicked.
I wanted to try this ice cream cake one of my batchmates was telling , but i wasn't sure , so i opened Swiggy , Zomato and the reviews were good for normal cake , but i wanted ice cream cake , you see my parents like simple things .And my brother loved chocolate , It was his favourite , and mine too . And mom doesn't like celebrations , and the reviews at my place for ice cream cake were not good . Then i went on a U turn in my thoughts towards Havour ice cream cake , chocolate flavor and ordered it. I had no idea what I'd just done.

For the people who had not tasted it yet and honestly, I feel sorry for you — Havmor's Chocolate Ice Cream Cake is not an average experience . Like literally me and my brother fought over it. And i am being the elder sis , i never fought with my brother and for the first time , i did.
Let me just lay out my experience here , I opened the goddamn outer box and then i looked at the cake. It looked very yummy with all the choco chips , and ten i saw it started to melt a little . Guys do not judge , the temperature here is 43 degrees but what shocked me is it did not melt quickly. Then i placed it neatly on the table and the knife nicely slid into the cake like it is made of sponge . The texture was amazing. Then after the cake feeding , the photos , the next part was the remaining cake . Me and my brother gobbled it up . And i am not feeling guilty for eating more . That was such a nice moment .

The ice cream is either too hard (you're basically eating flavoured concrete) or it melts too fast (you're racing against time and losing). The cake layer is either soggy or freezer-burnt.
Havmor seems to have cracked some kind of dessert code. The ice cream is soft enough to cut cleanly but firm enough to hold its shape. The chocolate sponge has this miraculous quality of staying just slightly moist even after being frozen. And the chocolate coating , that glorious outer shell was perfectly fine right until the moment the knife hits it.

And for the people who love another flavors , Sorry guys , i did not try other flavors because i am obsessed with chocolate , it is my comfort flavor , but i heard there are some other flavors too.
