Sustainable Summer Care for You and Your Furry Friend

Summer is officially here, and we can already feel the heat. While we are excited about long days, summer vacations, and mangoes, it is important to stay cool and healthy in a way that is kind to the planet. Not just you, but your furry friends also need some extra care (and, of course, love) during this summer.
For us, hydration and comfort are everything during summer. If you are going out, always carry a reusable bottle filled with water or home-made lemonade to keep you hydrated. And what you wear matters, too! Wear light, breathable cotton clothes to coo you off naturally and make you feel breezy.
Speaking of conscious choices, do not crank up the AC all day. Open windows and doors in the cooler parts of the house, in the evening and early in the mornings, to allow some fresh air (and some Vitamin D). Do not forget to apply sunscreen.
Summers can be even tougher on our furry friends; we must be extra careful and loving. Make sure your pet always has access to fresh water and food. You can get cooling mats or wet your pet's fur with a damp cloth to help them beat the heat. Give regular baths and groom your buddy to keep them cool and comfortable.

Always choose early morning and late evening walks to avoid scorching pavements that can hurt their paws. If you have to go out during the day, use paw protectors or boots. If you find any fur babies on the roads, help them find shady spots to relax in during the day.
If you have to leave them alone at home, ensure they are comfortable and have everything to keep them safe. Never leave them alone in the car, even for a bit.
Here are some things you and your furry friend can do together!
1. Go on walks, for bird watching or chasing squirrels.
2. You and your fur besties can try some cool home-made local fruit popsicles. Not every fruit is for pets, so please look up before feeding. (Of course, you know!) .
3. Snuggle in and watch your favourite show in the afternoons.

Being sustainable this summer doesn't have to be a chore; it's about making small, conscious choices. When you head out, consider packing your snacks in reusable containers or choosing locally sourced fruits and vegetables that are in season.
