Political instability happens when there is disruption and constant uncertainty within the country's political system. For example, changes in leadership, violent conflict, and policy fickleness.

Before entering into political instability, let's understand societal instability, because politics takes advantage of people's minds, mostly those who believe everything they say. Societal instability occurs when normal functioning is disrupted due to a threat to the structure and social order, resulting in feelings of uncertainty and unpredictability. What gives this a way? It's political corruption, economic inequality, religious tension, and resource mismanagement.

The consequences will lead to social unrest, protests, wars, disobedience, and more trouble. All this turmoil will lead to poverty and discrimination, making it difficult for people to make a proper living, resulting in theft, murders, and suicides.

If society collapses, we will end up in a primitive state, where a stronger society will emerge, or completely vanish into thin air.

The actual causes for social issues are overpopulation, inequality, and illiteracy. Illiterates can or cannot be a problem, as we see, the literate ones are causing more disruption than the illiterates.

In my opinion, it is more of a racial problem here in India than other issues. The idea of “India” was for all people to live together, regardless of caste or religion. People felt bored with their lives and could not let go of the past; hence, it got out of hand.

Politicians also took advantage of the rift between the religions in India. People were fed with evil whispers and fake luxury, so they were bewitched to shift from understanding the reality that humans will do anything for their benefit.

The idea of government is not for politicians to make money and become plump. The word government itself screams the ‘nation's people’. People make the government; that is why politicians visit door-to-door begging for votes. As a citizen of India, you should act like you are the boss, rather than bowing to meaningless fear. We pay hefty taxes that are unrealistic, right now. Ask any middle-class person how they win their daily bread. The job market is also showing ugly signs of what happened in the 1990s, as they cannot pay their employees, and their business is fading.

Startups are failing. Why? Where the officials should push their people to do good for their country, there they only think of collecting bribes and making their pockets tighter.

Nepal’s Political Instability

For instance, look at how Nepal is, how active the youth are. You see how political instability can lead to the right to stand for your own rights. Because our old generation lived in fear, as the government is an abyss, this generation knows how to exorcise the demon in that abyss.

A view about Genz's awakening in September 2025, where the protests made Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resign, and an interim government was established. What was the cause of this? The reason was recurring corruption for years, and a short-lived coalition government with 13 different governments, with nobody completing the full term.

Moreover, there were more issues, like a mix of major scandals, embezzlement, and land grabbing. Despite a 4.5% growth forecast for 2025, high youth unemployment is prompting people to seek work abroad.

But neither the government nor its people will be able to survive, as no one is thinking of the solution, but are drifting away.

Political instability can lead to individuals' mental health, leading them to experience stress or depression.

What causes political instability?

 • Political instability results in policy uncertainty.
 • Governance disruption due to recurring changes in political parties.
 • Nationalism will end up in division within or between nations.
 • Increase in hostility and tension
 • Economic challenges due to trade disputes.

How to ease political apathy in society?

People lose interest and faith in voting when things like below coverages happen:

You can help people even if you aren't in politics; if the mindset is to make things better for your people, then you will do it. Government is for everyone, not one religion or two; it's for everyone. The election result is a mirror to reflect everyone’s opinion, which will help people build the mindset, “okay, now they are thinking of us and not themselves”.

It's true that humans, no matter how much they are given, are never satisfied and always ask for more. Politicians need to focus on the betterment of society, not individual opinions of themselves and their peers. It's not easy, but you are in a place where people look up to you.

Political instability in the time Indira Gandhi's Government

Indira Gandhi’s Infamous Emergency - by Wilvia Dsouza - CollectLo

This is an example of political instability, where, during the 1975-1977 emergency in India, Indira Gandhi imposed a period of forced, not genuine, political stability. How was this achieved? By suspending civil liberties, imprisoning political opponents, and imposing press censorship, it didn't resolve the political instability, but created an authoritarian regime.

This happened because of public discontent due to a lack of jobs and food shortages. This also led to a court ruling that found electoral malpractices.

Later in 1977, elections were held again against authoritarian excesses. Where the government safeguarded through a constitutional amendment to prevent abuse of emergency power from happening again.

Due to the corrupted leaders, aren't we having a similar problem right now, too?

Who is going to make the situation better, those illiterate leaders? Our country needs people who have a sense of love for the nation and its people. The understanding lies in acceptance that we are the citizens of the country, and religion has nothing to do with this.

In my opinion, if the government has so many problems with other religions, then please create a government for all those religions. And, you won't do it because it's going to get more troublesome. The most important part about being the representative of people is to do what can bring peace to the nation.

Government and rules are not for feeding politicians' children and family; for that, you can have your own business and live life. Being a representative means bringing peace within your people and understanding that violence will only bring downfall, and not the free country you once dreamt of.

Our FREEDOM needs to be restored, and we need to give our freedom fighters the respect for what they have bled for.

The fault of media houses

The media is the fourth pillar of democracy, and the media have now become so greedy for money that politics has become a source of entertainment rather than what it should be. The media is an informant, watchdog, public forum, and voice of the people.

What is the media doing now? Scared of politicians. Gone are those days when reporters used to report fearlessly, they used to stand for their people and bring a sense of justice. The work that the media needs to do is done by the general public. It's time for Media houses to point their pen, camera, and voice against the true villains who are breaking our country.

The Trend of being called an anti-national

Stop labelling your own people who are voicing what's happening as Anti-nationals. - by Wilvia Dsouza - CollectLo

When were you people ever national? You are so fixated on entertaining your general public and shifting their minds from your corruption. That is when one raises the voice against your wrongdoings - we are called Antinationals. So imagine those people who wore kaki shorts working for the British. And those people have brought a rift between us. Much information is hidden because it is going to make us lose government interest play right?

Youths who are not educated and have no idea about what is happening are so easily swayed by this candy don't know who they are actually fighting against. Why kill and tarnish your own people in the name of revenge, religion, and politics?

When will we ever understand that our past is dead and gone, and where we can live peacefully, we are taking that freedom for granted?

Conclusion

We need to build trust within people again, not religion; your religion can be inside your houses, not outside. Outside, you are the citizens of India.

Why complicate simple things? Give what the general public needs.

Don't get it wrong, government is made by people, and government is people - You Politicians are just a representative of us. Make money but never stab your own people's stomach. Give people who know how to handle emergencies the power, not these money-minded people who have no idea how finance, jobs, the economy, and people work.
